Residents are surrounded on all sides by freeways and sprawling freight and logistics operations from the nearby port of oakland. To address the air pollution, public health, and climate crises in the region, the west oakland sustainable port collaborative project will provide a forum for community members to work together with a diverse group of partners in academia, labor, business, industry, and local and state agencies to accelerate the port of oakland's transition to zero-emissions. Activities:project activities include educating port decisionmakers on the feasibility of zero-emissions technology, identifying barriers to eliminating specific emissions sources, and empowering residents to push the port to make specific zero-emissions commitments. The goal is to shift the direction of the port's maritime strategic plan from continuous growth to sustainable, emission-free commerce. Subrecipient:no subawards are included in this assistance agreement.outcomes:the west oakland sustainable port collaborative will lead the development of a model resolution including zero-emissions recommendations for the port of oakland.
