DESCRIPTION:THIS AGREEMENT PROVIDES FUNDING UNDER THE INFLATION REDUCTION ACT (IRA) TO THE MONTEREY BAY AIR POLLUTION CONTROL DISTRICT. SPECIFICALLY, THE RECIPIENT WILL SECURE CLARITY PARTICULATE MATTER (PM) 2.5 ANNUAL SERVICE AGREEMENTS FOR ADDITIONAL AND EXISTING SENSORS. THIS ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT PROVIDES FULL FEDERAL FUNDING IN THE AMOUNT OF $20,000.00. PRE-AWARD COSTS ARE APPROVED BACK TO 10/01/2024. ACTIVITIES:THE ACTIVITIES INCLUDE SECURING CONTRACTUAL SERVICES FOR CLARITY PARTICULATE MATTER (PM) 2.5 SENSOR ANNUAL SERVICE AGREEMENTS FOR CURRENT AND ADDITIONAL SENSORS TO ASSIST WITH CALIBRATION AND REPORTING METHODS TO ACCURATELY MEASURE PM. SUBRECIPIENT:NO SUBAWARDS ARE INCLUDED IN THIS ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT.OUTCOMES:THE ANTICIPATED DELIVERABLES INCLUDE CONTRACTUAL SERVICES FOR SENSOR MONITORING OF PARTICULATE MATTER FOR EXISTING AND ADDITIONAL SENSORS AND CONTINUE TO REVIEW AND PUBLISH CLARITY PM 2.5 DATA. THE EXPECTED OUTCOMES INCLUDE INCREASED AWARENESS OF AMBIENT AIR QUALITY THROUGH COLLECTION OF DATA AND HELP ESTABLISH A STANDARD FOR AIR MONITORING SENSORS MEASURING PM AND OZONE. THE INTENDED BENEFICIARIES INCLUDE RESIDENTS IN THE MONTEREY BAY AIR BASIN AND SURROUND AREA OF MONTEREY COUNTY.
