(NYCBUS) TO REDUCE DIESEL EMISSIONS AND IMPROVE LOCAL AIR QUALITY. THIS AGREEMENT IS TO REPLACE EXISTING ICE SCHOOL BUSES WITH ZERO EMISSION (ZE) SCHOOL BUSES AND ASSOCIATED CHARGERS. THE PROJECT IS EXPECTED TO REDUCE CARBON DIOXIDE (CO2) EMISSIONS AND OTHER POLLUTANTS SUCH AS NITROGEN OXIDES (NOX), PARTICULATE MATTER (PM), AND CARBON MONOXIDE (CO). ACTIVITIES:THE ACTIVITIES INCLUDE REPLACING OLDER ICE SCHOOL BUSES WITH ZERO EMISSION (ZE) SCHOOL BUSES AND ASSOCIATED CHARGERS. THE NEW SCHOOL BUSES WILL SERVE NEW YORK CITY PUBLIC SCHOOLS. SUBRECIPIENT:NO SUBAWARDS ARE INCLUDED IN THIS ASSISTANCE AGREEMENT.OUTCOMES:THE ANTICIPATED DELIVERABLES INCLUDE THE REPLACEMENT OF OLDER ICE SCHOOL BUSES WITH ZERO EMISSION (ZE) SCHOOL BUSES AND ASSOCIATED CHARGERS. WITH NYCBUS PROVIDING CURB-TO-SCHOOL SERVICES IN NYC, THE NEW SCHOOL BUSES WILL TRANSPORT NYC PUBLIC SCHOOL STUDENTS. STAFF WILL BE TRAINED ON ELECTRIC BUS AND CHARGING INFRASTRUCTURE OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE. THE EXPECTED OUTCOMES INCLUDE: REDUCED CARBON DIOXIDE (CO2) EMISSIONS AND OTHER POLLUTANTS SUCH AS NITROGEN OXIDES (NOX), PARTICULATE MATTER (PM), AND CARBON MONOXIDE (CO); IMPROVED AMBIENT AIR QUALITY IN THE COMMUNITIES IN WHICH THE BUSES OPERATE; IMPROVEMENTS IN OVERALL HEALTH AND WELFARE OF RESIDENTS IN SUCH COMMUNITIES; INCREASED NUMBER OF TRAINED PROFESSIONALS ABLE TO SAFELY SERVICE ZEBS AND TRAIN OTHERS. THE INTENDED BENEFICIARIES ARE NYCBUS AND NYC PUBLIC SCHOOLS.
