The Department of Health and Human Services Administration for Children and Families awarded Ignite ORG's Teen Living Programs Division $700,000 on September 30, 2025, under the Transitional Living for Homeless Youth program (CFDA 93.550) to operate the Belfort House Transitional Living Program.
The program provides safe, stable shelter and comprehensive services to runaway and homeless youth ages 16 to under 22 for up to 18 months, extendable to 21 months under extenuating circumstances. Services include basic life skills, educational and job attainment opportunities, and counseling to support youth transition to self-sufficiency and stable, independent living. Performance period runs through September 29, 2028, with work performed in Illinois.
Ignite ORG, a Chicago-based registered nonprofit, delivers additional federal-funded services addressing youth homelessness beyond this award, including emergency shelter, street outreach, permanent housing solutions, and rental assistance across the Chicago metropolitan area, with particular focus on unaccompanied, pregnant, and parenting youth.
