The International Development Finance Corporation (IDFC) awarded a $3.3 million Project Grant to Institut Pasteur De Dakar to support technical assistance for the development of a COVID-19 vaccine manufacturing facility in Senegal. The grant is being administered under the Foreign Investment Financing program (CFDA 70.002), which provides financing for projects in developing countries that support development goals and improve U.S. competitiveness through increased exports and job creation. Funding will support project development work through July 2023 to establish domestic vaccine manufacturing capabilities in Senegal, helping address COVID-19 and future public health emergencies. The new facility aims to strengthen health security in the region through reliable vaccine supply and local production capacity.
