The grant provides funding for NRWA to deliver training and technical assistance to rural, small, and tribal municipalities for the following key objectives: Assist at least 600 communities and wastewater systems with on-site technical assistance for planning, developing, and acquiring financing for Clean Water State Revolving Fund (CWSRF)-eligible activities, including hosting 100 on-site community training sessions and sharing 40 case studies. Serve a minimum of 948 communities and wastewater systems, including 100 lagoons, with 7,900 hours of in-person technical assistance to improve water quality and achieve/maintain Clean Water Act compliance, transferring the results through 32 case studies. Provide 7,500 hours of on-site technical assistance to at least 500 decentralized wastewater systems and communities, and recommend communities to the Closing America's Wastewater Access Gap Program. The 3-year grant period runs from September 1, 2025 through August 31, 2027. NRWA will sub-award funding to its 52 state affiliate offices to implement the described training and technical assistance activities nationwide.
