Description
This research plans to assess the effectiveness and efficiency of exhaust standards over the last half century, investigating how air pollution from passenger vehicles changed over time, exploring long-term causes for declines in pollution emissions for the new and used US light duty vehicle fleets. The research will also examine the cost-effectiveness of these standards and develop quantitative mathematical models of new and used vehicle fleets to study how feasible alternative policies would affect vehicle pollution emissions, consumer choices, and consumer well-being.
