The U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) awarded a $19,000,000 Project Grant under the Foreign Assistance for Programs Overseas (CFDA 98.001) program to provide food assistance, nutrition, and livelihoods support to migrant populations in Colombia. The grant, which runs from September 1, 2024 to April 30, 2026, is being implemented by the Spanish non-profit organization Fundacion Accion Contra El Hambre, doing business as No Hambre!.
As part of this project, No Hambre! has issued sub-awards to the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) and the Danish Refugee Council (DRC) to deliver a range of humanitarian assistance and early recovery services, including emergency food aid, water and sanitation infrastructure, shelter, protection, and economic recovery support targeting Venezuelan refugees and migrants, Colombian returnees, internally displaced persons, and host communities in Colombia. The sub-awards to NRC and DRC aim to save lives, alleviate suffering, and mitigate the social and economic impacts of the Venezuelan crisis on affected populations in the region.
