About this award

The "Comunidades Libres de Violencia de Genero Activity" is a $2,000,000 project grant awarded by the U.S. Agency for International Development (USAID) under the USAID Foreign Assistance for Programs Overseas (CFDA 98.001) program. The project aims to prevent, mitigate the risk, and respond to gender-based violence (GBV), including intimate partner violence, violence against women and girls, and violence against LGBTQI+ persons, in Honduras. The project will strengthen integrated local responses to combat the most prevalent forms of GBV while upholding "do no harm" principles and incorporating an intersectional perspective across the prevention-to-response spectrum. The project will be trauma-informed, survivor-centered, and perpetrator-engaging to increase the likelihood of breaking the cycle of violence. The project is scheduled to run from January 6, 2025, to January 5, 2028, and will be implemented by Caritas De Honduras.
