The Federal Highway Administration awarded $1 million to the City of Richmond, Virginia on May 13, 2026 to support supplemental planning for safe and equitable streets under the Safe Streets and Roads for All program (CFDA 20.939). The award funds planning activities and demonstration work in support of a comprehensive safety action plan addressing roadway fatalities and serious injuries. Performance runs through May 13, 2028 in Richmond, Virginia. This is a project grant, one of the discretionary awards made competitively under the Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act to local and regional entities for developing and implementing Comprehensive Safety Action Plans and conducting related planning and design activities.
