Village of pleasantville, NY for the project village of pleasantville vision zero action plan

The Village of Pleasantville, NY received a $160,000 Project Grant from the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) under the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program (CFDA 20.939), awarded on August 6, 2025, with a completion date of August 6, 2027. The award funds the development of the Village of Pleasantville Vision Zero Action Plan, a comprehensive safety initiative designed to prevent roadway fatalities and serious injuries within the municipality.

The grant supports planning and design activities essential to creating a comprehensive safety action plan, including stakeholder engagement, data analysis, and the identification of targeted infrastructure and behavioral safety strategies. As a planning-phase award under the SS4A program, this funding enables Pleasantville to conduct the foundational work necessary to develop evidence-based recommendations for improving transportation safety across all road user categories, including pedestrians, bicyclists, transit riders, and motorists. The two-year project timeline allows the Village to engage its community stakeholders and establish a strategic framework for subsequent Vision Zero implementation efforts.
