About this award
The federal Project Grant award of $17,639,609.00 from the Federal Highway Administration's Highway Planning and Construction program (CFDA 20.205) will fund the replacement of the existing low-flow crossing at Salt Creek on Bradley Road in Menifee, California with a 335-foot-long by 64-foot-wide all-weather bridge. The project also includes improvements to the Potomac Drive and Rio Vista Drive intersections. The new bridge will have a 12-foot median, two 12-foot travel lanes, 8-foot shoulders, and 5-foot pedestrian sidewalks on both sides. The existing dual pipe culvert conveying flows from Salt Creek will be removed, and the bridge surface will be raised approximately 12 feet above Salt Creek at its highest point. This grant award to the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will enhance transportation infrastructure and improve flood conveyance in the region.
