PURPOSE: THE PRIMARY OBJECTIVE OF THE PROPOSED PROJECT IS CONSTRUCTION OF A NEW, STATE-OF-THE-ART RESEARCH FACILITY TO SUPPORT UNDERGRADUATE STEM TRAINING AND WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT. SECONDARY GOALS INCLUDE:- EXPAND CAPACITY TO SUPPORT WORK-BASED TRAINING;- EXTEND EDUCATOR-INDUSTRY PARTNERSHIPS;- PROMOTE CROSS-DISCIPLINARY THINKING AND PROBLEM-SOLVING;- SUPPORT CUTTING EDGE RESEARCH INVESTIGATIONS THAT FULLY INTEGRATE STUDENT TRAINING AS A GATEWAY TO WORKFORCE DEVELOPMENT;- CONTRIBUTE TO U.S. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT AND INNOVATION THROUGH INNOVATIVE STEM PROGRAMMING.ACTIVITIES TO BE PERFORMED: THE REQUESTED FUNDS WILL DIRECTLY SUPPORT THE ADDITION OF 21,000 SQUARE FEET TO THE EXISTING FACILITIES.EXPECTED OUTCOMES: OUTCOMES OF THE PROJECT INCLUDE THE ADDITION OF NEW RESEARCH, TEACHING, AND COLLABORATIVE SPACES THAT WILL SUPPORT CONTINUED ENROLLMENT GROWTH IN STEM FOCUSED PROGRAMMING AS WELL AS ENHANCE OUR ABILITY TO PROVIDE WORK-BASED TRAINING.
