Description

Activities
The proposed project covers the further refinement and potential expansion of the cybersecurity demand and supply map, cybersecurity career pathways, and cybersecurity education and training provider tool. In addition to these technical upgrades, comptia will devote staff time to conducting outreach, representing cyberseek publicly, and responding to questions from partners and users.
Expected outcomes
Success in this project will result in improved analytics, metrics, and reporting on the cybersecurity workforce. Furthermore, success will be measured by increased use of the tool. Comptia and emsi burning glass will continue to drive utilization of cyberseek, pursuing an aggregate goal of 1.5 million unique views during the grant period, and 4.5 million in total since launch. The tool will aim to provide stakeholders with real-time information about the state of the cybersecurity workforce in their region.
Intended beneficiaries
The cyberseek tool is intended to be used by audiences including employers, job seekers, academic institutions, training providers, guidance counselors, and public policy makers. Proposed refinements will make cyberseek more intuitive for users, meet the growing demand from both jobseekers and employers for a clear understanding of career pathways in the cybersecurity field, and provide users with real-time information about the state of the cybersecurity workforce in their region.
Subrecipient activities
The demand data will be sourced from comptia's partner, emsi burning glass. Emis burning glass proprietary database of online employer demand includes hundreds of millions of current and historical job postings, providing valuable input into the tool. Emsi burning glass labor market analysts will match job postings to work roles within the nice national cybersecurity workforce framework on the basis of job titles, skills, certifications and industry.
