The Bowman County Airport Authority received a $160,000 federal Project Grant award from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) under the Airport Improvement Program, COVID-19 Airports Programs, and Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act Programs (CFDA 20.106). The grant funds the final phase of a multi-year project to construct a new 8,000 square foot steel hangar for aircraft storage, maintenance, and service at the Bowman County Airport in North Dakota. This project phase involves the construction of a 1,600 square foot portion of the hangar, with the goal of generating additional revenue to help the airport become more self-sustaining. Prior phases of the hangar construction project were also supported by separate FAA grants ranging from approximately $160,000 to $666,000. In addition to the hangar, the grant funding has covered related improvements such as engineering work, utilities installation, and apron construction to enhance the airport's infrastructure and capabilities.
