About this award
The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded a Project Grant of $515,701.06 to the City of Kosciusko, Mississippi, under the Airport Improvement Program (CFDA 20.106) on July 14, 2025, with an ultimate completion date of July 13, 2029. This award funds three primary airport infrastructure improvements at Kosciusko Regional Airport: construction of a new 2,500 square foot sponsor-owned hangar for aircraft storage to enhance the airport's revenue generation capacity; extension of an existing hangar access taxilane by 35 feet to provide airfield access to a non-exclusive hangar development area and ensure conformity with current airport standards; and reconstruction of 200 linear feet of existing hangar access taxilane pavement that has reached the end of its serviceable life.
The project addresses critical airport infrastructure needs while supporting long-term economic sustainability through revenue generation. The sponsor has adequately financed the airport's airside needs, and this grant is coordinated with an associated Airport Infrastructure Grant that funds the remaining eligible project costs. Through these improvements, the airport will enhance operational safety, improve aircraft accessibility, and position itself for sustainable growth and modernization in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration standards for public-use airports.
