About this award

The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) awarded Rooks County Courthouse a $433,027.37 Project Grant on August 27, 2025, under the Airport Improvement Program, Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act Programs, and COVID-19 Airports Programs (CFDA 20.106). This award supports airport infrastructure improvements at Stockton Municipal Airport in Stockton, Kansas, with a project completion deadline of August 26, 2029. The grant funds two primary construction initiatives: the extension of an existing hangar taxilane by 125 feet to provide airfield access to a non-exclusive hangar development area and bring the airport into conformity with current Federal Aviation Administration standards, and the construction of a new 7,500-square-foot sponsor-owned hangar for aircraft storage.

These infrastructure improvements are designed to enhance the airport's revenue-generating capacity and operational efficiency while supporting the airport's goal of self-sustainability. The project represents a coordinated funding approach, with this grant providing a portion of total eligible project costs while an associated Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act grant funds the remaining eligible expenses. Upon completion, these projects will expand the airport's aircraft storage capabilities and improve ground access to hangar development areas, supporting civil aeronautics needs in the region.
