THIS AGREEMENT SUPPORTS COORDINATED NOXIOUS WEED CONTROL ON PRIVATE LANDS. THE 2021 WALKER CREEK AND MUCKAMUCK WILDFIRES RESULTED IN INCREASED NOXIOUS WEEDS. ENCOURAGING NOXIOUS WEED CONTROL ON PRIVATE LANDS WILL REDUCE SOURCES OF SPREAD ONTO SURROUNDING LANDS. UNDER THIS AGREEMENT THE PARTNER WILL WORK WITH LANDOWNERS TO IMPLEMENT AND SHARE THE COST OF WEED CONTROL EFFORTS. OVERALL, 5000 ACRES OF FORESTED LANDS WILL BE TREATED, WHICH INCLUDES AN ESTIMATED 2500 ACRES OF RANGELAND IMPROVED, 2500 ACRES OF WILDLIFE HABITAT IMPROVED, AND 2500 ACRES OF NOXIOUS WEEDS CONTROLLED. ALL WORK WILL BE COMPLETE BY 12/31/2026 AND WILL OCCUR IN WASHINGTON STATE. IF THIS AGREEMENT IS NOT APPROVED, NOXIOUS WEEDS WILL BECOME ESTABLISHED, MAKING THEIR SPREAD MORE EXTENSIVE AND THEIR REMOVAL MORE DIFFICULT AND EXPENSIVE IN THE FUTURE.
