This federal Project Grant award from the National Science Foundation (NSF) under the STEM Education program (CFDA 47.076) provides $199,970 to Manhattanville College, a Hispanic Serving Institution, to develop a program plan to improve STEM persistence, retention, and graduation rates among Latinx and other historically underserved students. The key objectives are to: (1) understand the demographics and learning experiences of Manhattanville's STEM students, (2) review evidence-based approaches to closing STEM achievement gaps, and (3) create a program implementation plan and proposal to execute selected strategies. This planning project will collect data on student experiences and faculty practices, analyze best practices from other Hispanic Serving Institutions, and develop a comprehensive strategy to increase success for underrepresented STEM students at Manhattanville. The award period is from January 1, 2025 to December 31, 2027.
