Description

Berkshire rsvp's mission is to encourage older adults to volunteer by matching their skills to local community needs, to recruit and place volunteers to assist agencies implement impact programming, to identify unmet community needs, and to design signature impact projects to address compelling problem issues. Rsvp estimates 350 total volunteers with 260 active volunteers and 70 stations projected for FY?21 and several signature programs. Of the 260 active volunteers, at least 75 rsvp volunteers will be placed in a primary focus area with dedicated outcome assignments. Some of their activities will include transportation, companionship, food security, and environmental impacts. The FY?21-FY23 federal grant (7/01/21-- 6/30/24) will support rsvp in addressing the americorps senior strategic service categories: disaster services, healthy futures, environmental stewardship, and economic opportunity. The primary focus area for the project will be healthy futures. Actual outcomes - data will be collected by surveys, volunteer tracking, station reports and project evaluations. At the end of the three-year grant, there will be an increased number of individuals who will have better access to care through our transportation program, access to food security through various food pantries, and will experience an overall well-being through companionship and programs dedicated toward benefiting the environment. Rsvp's total FY'21 budget is being submitted for $172,737. Our sponsor will provide $122,737.00 (71%) and our grant request to americorps senior will be for $50,000 (29%).
