NORTHWEST COLORADO COUNCIL OF GOVERNMENTS (NWCCOG) SERVES THE FIVE-COUNTY REGION OF EAGLE, GRAND, JACKSON, PITKIN, AND SUMMIT COUNTIES. VINTAGE, FORMALLY THE ALPINE AREA AGENCY ON AGING, IS A DEPARTMENT UNDER NWCCOG AND HOSTS VINTAGE RSVP. TOGETHER, THEY ENSURE THAT OLDER ADULTS AND THEIR CAREGIVERS HAVE ACCESS TO THE SUPPORTS, SERVICES, AND RESOURCES NEEDED AS PEOPLE AGE. THE SUBMITTAL OF THIS GRANT OCCURS IN UNPRECEDENTED TIMES. ALTHOUGH VINTAGE RSVP HAS BEEN A GRANT RECIPIENT FOR SIX YEARS, AND SUCCESSFULLY NAVIGATED TO THE NEW REQUIRED NATIONAL INDICATORS IN 2018, THE PROGRAM LOST 85% OF ITS VOLUNTEERS AND FACED ADDITIONAL CHALLENGES IMPLEMENTING THE NEW REQUIREMENTS. ADDITIONALLY, JUST AS THE PROGRAM FACED THESE PROGRAMMATIC CHANGES AND CHALLENGES, VINTAGE RSVP NOW FACES THE UNKNOWN THAT THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC BRINGS. VINTAGE RSVP CONTINUES TO LOOK TO THE EXPERTS AT THE LOCAL, STATE, AND NATIONAL LEVELS FOR INFORMATION AND DIRECTION TO PROTECT RSVP VOLUNTEERS WHO MAY FALL INTO THE VULNERABLE POPULATION CRITERIA AND WORK WITH LOCAL PARTNERS TO IDENTIFY THE NEW, INCREASING, AND EVERCHANGING NEEDS OF THOSE IN THE COMMUNITY. TECHNOLOGY WILL LIKELY PLAY AN IMPORTANT ROLE, AND AS SUCH, VINTAGE RSVP WILL STAY UP-TO-DATE WITH THE CURRENT INFORMATION TO IMPLEMENT AS MANY INTERVENTIONS AND PRECAUTIONS AS POSSIBLE. AN ESTIMATED 90 RSVP VOLUNTEERS WILL SERVE UNDER THIS 2021-2024 RSVP GRANT. OF THIS NUMBER, 90 VOLUNTEERS WILL BE PLACED IN OUTCOME ASSIGNMENTS. SOME OF THEIR ACTIVITIES WILL INCLUDE ORGANIZATIONS TO PROVIDE OR IMPROVE SAFE HOUSING, ORGANIZATIONS TO INCREASE SOCIAL SUPPORT, FOOD SECURITY, AND RESPITE, ORGANIZATIONS THAT WORK WITH INDIVIDUALS TO IMPROVE HEALTH OUTCOMES, AND IMPROVED ACCESS TO MEDICAL CARE. THE PRIMARY FOCUS AREA OF THIS GRANT IS HEALTHY FUTURES. AT THE END OF THE THREE-YEAR GRANT, VINTAGE RSVP WILL HAVE THE FOLLOWING ANTICIPATED OUTCOMES: NUMBER OF INDIVIDUALS WHO REPORT HAVING INCREASED SOCIAL SUPPORT OR IMPROVED CAPACITY FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING NUMBER OF INDIVIDUALS WHO REPORT INCREASED FOOD SECURITY NUMBER OF CAREGIVERS OF OLDER ADULTS AND INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES WHO REPORTED HAVING INCREASED SOCIAL SUPPORT NUMBER OF INDIVIDUALS REPORTING A CHANGE IN BEHAVIOR OR INTENT TO CHANGE BEHAVIOR TO IMPROVE THEIR HEALTH NUMBER OF INDIVIDUALS WITH IMPROVED ACCESS TO MEDICAL CARE THE CNCS FEDERAL INVESTMENT OF $89,193 WILL BE SUPPLEMENTED BY $37,849 OF NON-FEDERAL RESOURCES.
