Description

Of this number, 75 rsvp volunteers will be placed in outcome assignments. Some of their activities will include keeping independent seniors safe (KISS), food distribution, staffing hotline, and other community-based activities. The primary focus area of this project is healthy futures (aging in place). At the end of the three-year grant, we anticipate that our outcomes will provide a very high percentage of program beneficiaries, about 80 percent, with a sense of social connectedness and safety for seniors who live independently by providing a daily phone call for social interaction, safety and independence. We also expect to provide cancer patients and their families with support and needed supplies as deemed necessary. The medical care access coalition will provide medicare and medicaid assistance and provide much needed prescriptions for those less fortunate. We will promote independent living and an increased sense of security for many, including families in need of food assistance. The cncs investment of $75,000 will be supplemented by $22,606 of non-federal resources. The project director has updated the target numbers on all performance measures to reflect the current volunteer placement.
