AN ESTIMATED 130 UNDUPLICATED RSVP VOLUNTEERS WILL SERVE IN THE INTERFAITH CAREGIVERS OF OZAUKEE COUNTY (ICO) RSVP AGING IN PLACE PROGRAM. ICO WILL SERVE AS THE RSVP SPONSOR AND SOLE VOLUNTEER STATION WITH TRAINING AND SCHEDULING OF RSVP VOLUNTEERS CONDUCTED BY ICO STAFF AND COORDINATION AND MANAGEMENT OF THE PROGRAM BY THE RSVP PROGRAM DIRECTOR. ALL RSVP VOLUNTEERS WILL BE PLACED IN OUTCOME ASSIGNMENTS. SPECIFIC VOLUNTEER ACTIVITIES WILL INCLUDE TRANSPORTING SENIORS TO MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS, FOOD PANTRIES AND GROCERY STORES; VISITING SENIORS TO PROVIDE COMPANIONSHIP AND COMBAT ISOLATION; PROVIDING EDUCATION AND GUIDANCE TO SENIORS, VOLUNTEERS AND THE COMMUNITY ON AN ARRAY OF ISSUES PERTINENT TO SENIOR SAFETY, THE PREVENTION OF ELDER ABUSE AND THE REDUCTION OF SENIOR ISOLATION; PROVIDING SENIORS AND THE COMMUNITY WITH ACCESS TO MEDICAL MOBILITY EQUIPMENT FOR A SMALL, REFUNDABLE FEE; COORDINATING COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT PROJECTS THAT WILL HELP SENIORS FEEL SUPPORTED AND CONNECTED TO THE COMMUNITY; AND PROVIDING RESPITE SERVICES TO CAREGIVERS OF SENIORS. THE PRIMARY FOCUS AREA OF THIS PROJECT IS HEALTHY FUTURES WITH THE OBJECTIVE OF AGING IN PLACE. AT THE END OF THE THREE-YEAR GRANT, 1,500 SENIORS, CAREGIVERS AND COMMUNITY MEMBERS WILL REPORT INCREASED SOCIAL SUPPORT AND/OR KNOWLEDGE OF SENIOR ISSUES AS A RESULT OF THE RSVP SERVICES. THE CNCS FEDERAL INVESTMENT OF $82,500 WILL BE SUPPLEMENTED BY A $35,356 MATCH.
