LIFEWISE STL WILL HOST 55 SCP VOLUNTEERS, OF WHICH WE ARE REQUESTING 14 FEDERALLY FUNDED VSYS, TO SERVE THE ST. LOUIS REGION. ALL OF THE SENIOR COMPANIONS WILL BE PLACED IN OUTCOME ASSIGNMENTS. SOME OF THEIR ACTIVITIES WILL INCLUDE COMPANIONSHIP, TRANSPORTATION, RESPITE FOR FAMILY CAREGIVERS, FRAUD AND SCAM PREVENTION, AND CONNECTING CLIENTS WITH LOCAL RESOURCES. THE PRIMARY FOCUS AREA OF THIS PROJECT IS "HEALTHY FUTURES- AGING IN PLACE". AT THE END OF THE THREE-YEAR GRANT, 78% OF INDIVIDUALS SERVED WILL REPORT HAVING INCREASED SOCIAL SUPPORT OR IMPROVED CAPACITY FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING, AND 75% OF CAREGIVERS OF OLDER ADULTS AND INDIVIDUALS WITH DISABILITIES WILL REPORT HAVING INCREASED SOCIAL SUPPORT. THE CNCS FEDERAL INVESTMENT OF $77,698 WILL BE SUPPLEMENTED BY $188,303.
