The Department of Veterans Affairs Veterans Health Administration awarded $4.511 million to Homefirst Services of Santa Clara County (doing business as EHC Lifebuilders) under the VA Supportive Services for Veteran Families Program (CFDA 64.033) on October 1, 2025.
EHC Lifebuilders will provide supportive services to very low-income veteran families residing in permanent housing, experiencing homelessness and scheduled to transition to permanent housing, or exiting permanent housing and seeking stable alternatives. Required services include outreach, case management, VA benefits assistance, and assistance obtaining and coordinating other public benefits. The recipient may also provide temporary financial assistance paid directly to third parties on behalf of participants for child care, emergency housing assistance, transportation, rental assistance, utility and security deposits, moving costs, and general housing stability assistance including emergency supplies. Optional additional services include legal assistance and financial management services.
The award obligates $4.511 million for the period of performance October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2026. Work is performed in California. The assistance type is a project grant.
