OUR PROPOSAL INVOLVES HIRING 2 EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT COORDINATOR-SCHOOL SAFETY PERSONNEL, DEDICATED TO OUR COUNTY-WIDE SCHOOL SAFETY ACTIVITIES. OUR APPLICATION IS BEING SUBMITTED ON BEHALF OF OUR ENTIRE COUNTY WHICH INCLUDES 25 JURISDICTIONS, 76 SCHOOL DISTRICTS/PRIVATE/CHARTERS AND 150,000 STUDENTS. DURING THE LAST 20 YEARS, WE HAVE USED A COUNTY-WIDE APPROACH TO INSTILL STABILITY, COOPERATION, AND STANDARDIZATION. THESE PERSONNEL WILL CONDUCT SCHOOL THREAT AND VULNERABILITY ASSESSMENTS, UPDATE EMERGENCY OPERATIONS PLANS, PARTICIPATE IN THE COUNTY-WIDE SCHOOL SAFETY COMMITTEE, AND CONDUCT TRAININGS, EXERCISES AND PUBLIC EDUCATION. THEY WILL USE EVIDENCE-BASED SCHOOL SAFETY PROGRAMS AND NATIONAL, STATE AND LOCAL GUIDANCE TO ENSURE THAT OUR METHODOLOGIES, TOOLS AND PLANS ARE CURRENT AND CAN BE UTILIZED ACROSS OUR COUNTY. THEY WILL WORK WITH SCHOOL PERSONNEL, PARENTS AND POLICE, FIRE, MEDICAL AND MENTAL HEALTH TO ENSURE THAT WE HAVE A WHOLE COMMUNITY APPROACH. THEY WILL TRACK AND EVALUATE OUR PROGRESS TO ENSURE THAT ALL SCHOOLS HAVE ACCESS AND KNOWLEDGE ABOUT OUR PROGRAM/SERVICES. COMMITTED PARTNER AGENCIES INCLUDE THE MACOMB INTERMEDIATE SCHOOL DISTRICT, COUNTY ASSOCIATION OF SCHOOL ADMINISTRATORS, COUNTY FIRE CHIEF'S ASSOCIATION, COUNTY MEDICAL CONTROL AUTHORITY AND COUNTY POLICE CHIEF'S ASSOCIATION.
