Lawrence County Social Services, a nonprofit headquartered in New Castle, Pennsylvania, will deliver mandatory outreach, case management, VA benefits assistance, and public benefits coordination to very low-income veteran families experiencing homelessness or housing instability in Pennsylvania. The organization may also provide optional temporary financial assistance paid directly to third parties on behalf of participants for child care, emergency housing assistance, transportation, rental assistance, utility-fee payment assistance, security deposits, utility deposits, moving costs, and general housing stability assistance. The SSVF program targets veteran families residing in or transitioning to permanent housing through a Veteran-centered rapid rehousing and homelessness prevention model designed to help Veterans secure and retain permanent rental housing without preconditions while facilitating access to health care, employment, legal services, and other supports to maintain housing and improve quality of life.
