Description

Family service council of ohio, who does business as ohio recovery housing, has a mission is to increase access to high quality recovery housing options for people in recovery from substance use disorders. Recovery housing is a drug and alcohol-free living environment that offers peer support and connection to services and supports that support long term recovery. Fsco supports access to high quality recovery housing by offering a voluntary certification and quality review process for recovery housing operators, providing training and individualized technical assistance on best practices. Fsco also tracks outcomes of recovery housing through a resident survey and outcomes tracking tools. The proposed vista project aligns with the economic opportunities and healthy futures focus areas. The vista project will seek to strengthen county and community efforts to combat the opioid epidemic by building capacity for recovery housing. We expect this project to benefit ohioans in recovery from substance use disorders by building the capacity of organizations that provide critical recovery support services. Six vista members will contribute to the goals of the project by performing activities such as providing training, technical assistance and support to residents and operators seeking to track resident outcomes and using the outcomes data to raise awareness, address stigma and provide accurate information on the importance of recovery housing in the continuum of services and supports for those impacted by substance use disorders.
