Description

The police assisted addiction and recovery initiative (paari)'s mission is to build the capacity of law enforcement agencies to design and implement non-arrest programs that create pathways to treatment and recovery for those suffering from substance use disorders. The proposed vista project to establish a national recovery corps to address the growing opioid epidemic aligns with the capacity building and healthy futures focus areas. The vista project will seek to strengthen the ability of law enforcement agencies to increase access to care and address addiction and poverty through non-arrest approaches, which will benefit at least 500 unique individuals with substance use disorders and at least 105 law enforcement agencies. 15 vista members and one vista leader will contribute to the project by performing program development and capacity building activities, such as developing community partnerships, over the course of one year.
