AN ESTIMATED 200 RSVP VOLUNTEERS WILL SERVE. OF THIS NUMBER AT LEAST 65 RSVP VOLUNTEERS WILL BE PLACED IN OUTCOME ASSIGNMENTS. SOME OF THEIR SERVICE ACTIVITIES ARE COMPANIONSHIP AND MENTORING. THE PRIMARY FOCUS AREAS OF THIS PROJECT ARE HEALTHY FUTURES AGING IN PLACE AND EDUCATION K-12 SUCCESS. AT THE END OF THE THREE YEAR GRANT, AT LEAST 35 HOMEBOUND SENIORS WILL REPORT HAVING INCREASED SOCIAL SUPPORT OR IMPROVED CAPACITY FOR INDEPENDENT LIVING AND AT LEAST 30 STUDENTS WILL HAVE IMPROVED ACADEMIC ENGAGEMENT OR SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL SKILLS. THE ANNUAL REQUEST FOR CNCS FEDERAL INVESTMENT OF $63,252 WILL BE SUPPLEMENTED BY NON-FEDERAL RESOURCES. KENOSHA AREA FAMILY AND AGING SERVICES, INC., (KAFASI) IS A PRIVATE, NOT-FOR-PROFIT WHOSE MISSION IS TO SUPPORT HEALTHY AGING, STRONG FAMILIES AND A CONNECTED COMMUNITY, WHICH HAS SPONSORED RSVP OF KENOSHA COUNTY SINCE 1997. IN 2017 KAFASI SERVED OVER 9000 INDIVIDUALS THROUGHOUT KENOSHA COUNTY AND CONTINUES TO BE A CENTER FOR VOLUNTEERS SEEKING TO STRENGTHEN OUR COMMUNITY BY PARTNERING WITH A LONG-TERM, WELL RESPECTED ORGANIZATION.
