AN ESTIMATED 400 RSVP VOLUNTEERS WILL SERVE. OF THIS NUMBER, AT LEAST 225 RSVP VOLUNTEERS WILL BE PLACED IN OUTCOME ASSIGNMENTS. SOME OF THEIR ACTIVITIES WILL INCLUDE DELIVERING MEALS TO HOMEBOUND OLDER ADULTS, PROVIDING COMPANIONSHIP AND TRANSPORTATION TO PROMOTE INDEPENDENT LIVING FOR OLDER ADULTS, LEADING EVIDENCE-BASED PROGRAMS THAT PROMOTE HEALTHY LIVING AND FALL PREVENTIONS, ASSISTING IN FOOD PANTRIES AND OTHER ACTIVITIES THAT ADDRESS FOOD INSECURITY, ASSISTING IN HEAD START AND UPK CLASSROOMS, AND INCREASING THE CAPACITY OF LOCAL NONPROFITS. THE PRIMARY FOCUS AREA OF THIS PROJECT IS HEALTHY FUTURES. AT THE END OF THE THREE-YEAR GRANT, AT LEAST 166 INDIVIDUALS WILL REPORT AN INCREASE IN PERCEIVED TIES TO THEIR COMMUNITIES, 260 WILL REPORT A CHANGE IN BEHAVIOR OR INTENT TO CHANGE BEHAVIOR TO IMPROVE THEIR HEALTH, 1,500 INDIVIDUALS WILL REPORT AN INCREASE IN FOOD SECURITY, 12 CHILDREN WILL BE REPORTED AS HAVING GAINS IN SOCIAL-EMOTIONAL DEVELOPMENT, AND 6 AGENCIES WILL REPORT INCREASES IN THEIR EFFICIENCY, EFFECTIVENESS AND PROGRAM REACH. THE CNCS FEDERAL INVESTMENT OF $65,268 WILL BE SUPPLEMENTED BY $110,558 OF NON-FEDERAL RESOURCES.
