THE LEGAL AGENCY NAME IS ELDERLIFE, INC. DBA PARKWAY CENTER. THE PARKWAY CENTER IS A SENIOR SERVICE AGENCY WITH OVER 60 YEARS OF EXPERIENCE. THE AGENCY HISTORY DATES BACK TO 1957 AND HAS GONE THROUGH SEVERAL CONSOLIDATIONS, WITH THE MOST RECENT IN 2005, WHERE THE CORNHILL SENIOR CENTER AND ELDERLIFE, INC. MERGED TO FORM THE PARKWAY SENIOR CENTER. IN 2013, THE PARKWAY SENIOR CENTER WAS REBRANDED AS THE PARKWAY CENTER. THE PARKWAY CENTER SERVES OVER 3,500 PERSONS 50+ YEARS OF AGE. THE PARKWAY CENTER'S MISSION IS TO PROVIDE PROGRAMS AND SERVICES TO INDIVIDUALS 50+ EMPOWERING THEM TO LIVE HEALTHY AND VIBRANT LIVES. THE PARKWAY CENTER HAS BEEN THE SPONSOR AGENCY FOR THE ONEIDA COUNTY RETIRED AND SENIOR VOLUNTEER PROGRAM SINCE 1999. THE PARKWAY CENTER PROPOSES TO SUPPORT 215 RSVP VOLUNTEERS. RSVP VOLUNTEERS WILL PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION, BILL PAYER PROGRAM, A MATTER OF BALANCE FALLS PREVENTION PROGRAM, STAY YOUNG STRONG BONES PROGRAM, EMERGENCY FOOD AND FOOD INSECURITY. THE PRIMARY FOCUS AREA IS HEALTHY FUTURES. THE PROJECTS ANTICIPATED OUTCOMES, AS EXPANDED UPON IN THE HEALTHY FUTURES WORK PLANS ARE TO INCREASE SENIOR'S ABILITY TO REMAIN IN THEIR OWN HOMES WITH THE SAME OR IMPROVED QUALITY OF LIFE FOR AS LONG AS POSSIBLE AND TO INCREASE ACCESS TO NUTRITIOUS FOOD BY REDUCING FOOD INSECURITY AND RESPONDING TO FOOD EMERGENCIES. RSVP WILL WORK DIRECTLY WITH STATIONS TO IDENTIFY AND ADDRESS LOCAL COMMUNITY PRIORITIES IN ONEIDA COUNTY AND WILL WORK WITH THE ROME VA AND THE CENTRAL NEW YORK VETERAN'S OUTREACH CENTER TO SERVE VETERANS AND THEIR FAMILIES.
