Description

Our proposed vista project aligns with the cncs focus area of economic opportunities for the low-income population of formerly incarcerated youth. Our vista project will seek to build infrastructure, expand community partnerships, and secure long-term resources that will increase the capacity of our rehabilitative processes and interventions impacting more than 1,500 formerly incarcerated youth who are RE-entering society over the next three years. Five vista members will contribute to the goals of the project by performing activities such as creating a recruitment campaign for community mentors, establishing a mentor team leader model, creating a reentry transition guide to be used by youth transitioning into parole, training case managers on best practices in group processes, and establishing a peer recovery coach model. We are proposing a three-year project engaging five members each year.
