THE PROPOSED VISTA PROJECT ALIGNS WITH THE CAPACITY BUILDING FOCUS AREA. THE VISTA PROJECT WILL SEEK TO PROVIDE ACCESSIBLE RESOURCES TO LOW-INCOME STUDENTS IN SCHOOL DISTRICTS THROUGHOUT BERNALILLO COUNTY THAT USED TO BE ABLE TO AFFORD TRANSPORTATION TO ATTEND EVENTS, EXHIBITS AND PERFORMANCES AT THE NHCC BUT NO LONGER CAN DUE TO BUDGET CUTS, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO LACK OF TRANSPORTATION FUNDING AND AN INCREASE IN TESTING SCHEDULES THAT NO LONGER PERMIT TIME FOR VARIOUS FIELD TRIPS TO THE NHCC. FOR THIS PROJECT, THE NHCC PROPOSES TO UTILIZE FIVE (5) VISTAS FOR TWO KEY EFFORTS. THE FIRST PROJECT, VISTAS WILL ORGANIZE AND DIGITALLY CAPTURE EXISTING ARTS EDUCATION TOOLS FOR PRE-K THROUGH GRADE 12 STUDENTS AND THEIR TEACHERS. THE SECOND PROJECT, THE VISTAS WILL DEVELOP CAPACITY BUILDING PROGRAMS FOR ADULT PERFORMING ARTISTS, VISUAL ARTISTS AND WRITERS IN BERNALILLO COUNTY TO BETTER ASSIST AND TRAIN ARTISTS AND CREATIVE ENTREPRENEURS IN AREAS INCLUDING BUSINESS PLAN DEVELOPMENT, FUNDRAISING AND INVESTMENT SOLICITATION, ACCOUNTING AND FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT AND TAX CONSULTING, HUMAN RESOURCES DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT, AND MARKETING. VISTAS WOULD SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE CAPACITY BUILDING AND REGIONAL PLATFORM DEVELOPMENT WITH THE NHCC, BOTH DESIGNING AND INITIATING SPECIFIC CAPACITY BUILDING FOR ANNUAL COHORTS OF ARTISTS AND BUILDING A PLATFORM FOR THESE ARTISTS TO BE VETTED AND PROMOTED TO VENUES THROUGHOUT THE SOUTHWEST.
