Description

At southwest prevention, a division of southwest behavioral health center, we strive to be proactive in promoting positive lifestyles, reducing and eliminating drug use and other risk factors that lead to antisocial behaviors, and following evidence-based practices to engage community leaders, organizations and agencies in uniting their prevention efforts. Our proposed vista project aligns with the healthy futures - opioid addiction prevention and recovery focus area. This vista project will seek to reduce youth & adult opioid misuse, prevent future opioid addictions, raise awareness about the dangers of opioid misuse, and change the availability of opioids in our communities. We hope to positively impact most of the 229,000 people living in the southwest region of utah as many of our proposed strategies are universal approaches. We hope that 2 vista members will contribute to the goals of this project by performing activities that strengthen our community prevention coalitions, build new partnerships in our areas, develop new messaging campaigns and more strategies that they will help US to plan for over the course of 3 years.
