Description
The illinois association of free and charitable clinics' (iafcc) mission is to improve access to quality health care for the 800,000 individuals in illinois who are living in poverty, those who are uninsured/ underinsured, by increasing the capacity, fostering partnerships, educating the public and advocating for health policy for illinois' 48 free and charitable clinics. The proposed vista project aligns with the healthy futures focus area and directly cncs priority area access to health care and opioid addiction prevention and recovery. Going into its second year, this state-wide project requests an increase from 9 to 15 vistas plus one vista leader, for a total of 16 vistas. One of the 15 will be designated as the opioid addiction resource vista. Combined, the 16 vistas will continue the work of year 1 (2018) -- to increase the capacity of ten free and charitable clinics as well as provide a new dedicated vista who will assess the impact of opioid addiction on illinois' free and charitable clinics and serve as an opioid addiction resource to participating iafcc member clinics. As a result of the vista projects, participating clinics will be able to work with vistas to expand upon their work from year 1. The vistas work to: 1) develop effective outreach and fund development resources that will increase number of patients that access the clinics and improve financial support increasing the scale and reach and 2) integrate quality assurance which improves efficiency and effectiveness; 15 vistas and a vista leader will contribute to the goals of the project by performing activities such as, developing an outreach campaign for donors and patients, assisting in the development of a mobile outreach program, creating a performance measurement system and engaging and implementing in community needs assessment.
