Description

The proposed vista project aligns with cncs?s education focus area. By building capacity in organizations that connect stem mentors to volunteer placements, the vista project will seek to achieve a high degree of stem mentor (volunteer) satisfaction, a high degree of mentee (student) satisfaction with their mentorship experience, and an increase in mentee interest in stem careers, and expects to benefit more than 800 volunteer mentors and 2,500 students in its first year. Vista members will contribute to the goals of the project by recruiting stem mentors, helping to place mentors, creating tools to train and support mentors, building and contributing to evaluation systems, and conducting research and dissemination activities over the course of three years. Collectively, this work will contribute to US2020?s capacity to accelerate the stem mentoring movement for underserved children nationally.
