Description
ID - 18SR201004) to the corporation for national and community service for the grant period april 1, 2018 - march 31, 2021. The north conway community center (nccc) is a non-profit 501 (c) (3) that was established in 1949 (EIN #026012540). The organization is committed to its partnership with the community. IT seeks to provide a broad range of quality and progressive recreation opportunities for children and adults and to sponsor other community groups with like goals. The nccc has been the sponsoring agency of carroll county retired and senior volunteer program (ccrsvp) since 1978. Carroll county retired & senior volunteer program is located at 53 technology lane in conway, NH and its service area is carroll county new hampshire. The county is approximately 70 miles long, 30 miles wide and contains about 569,800 acres. Carroll county is a rural area with no industrial or metropolitan base. Its major industries are tourism and recreation. The nccc is requesting a grant with 3-year commitment. Grant funds of $49,301 to be awarded on an annual basis. Additional funds needed to support the work of rsvp will be raised through a county grant, NH department of transportation, various grants including: eversource, granite united way, NH charitable foundation, NH electric CO-OP, skrungloo farms INC. Grant, the gibson woodbury foundation, the robert & dorothy goldberg charitable foundation, and the pequawket foundation. The memorial hospital of north conway and the rotary club of north conway are also supporters of rsvp. Lastly , major fundraisers, in-kind donations, and an annual appeal all help to support rsvp's work. Rsvp presently has a total of 383 volunteers, 249 (65%) unduplicated volunteers engaged in outcome-based activities in healthy futures: aging in place and 134 (35%) volunteers engaged in community priorities. All of these volunteers are working to fill in gaps in community and outreach services through evidence-based approaches, whether that involves transporting patients to doctor's appointment through our non-emergency medical transportation program; or meeting a vital need for older adults and individual with disabilities by providing regular nourishment and social connection through our meals-on-wheels programs; or volunteering in local food pantries, providing crucial assistance to residents of carroll county in need of food assistance; or giving the gift of time through volunteering in local hospital, for-profit and nonprofit long-term care facilities and county nursing homes; or spreading some warmth by donating mittens, hats and scarves to local school children; or donating hand-made quilts to so many who need quilts not only to keep them warm but to show them that someone cares about them; or leading a bone builders class, delivering a proven exercise program to residents of carroll county. Rsvp's proposed goal for this new grant period, april 1, 2018- march 31, 2021, is to keep the number of volunteer at approximately the same level and the ratio of unduplicated volunteers to volunteers engaged in community priorities at the same level - 383 volunteers, 249 (65%) unduplicated volunteers engaged in outcome-based activities in healthy futures: aging in place and 134 (35%) volunteers engaged in community priorities. The rsvp staff and its volunteers will continue to the fill in the same gaps in community and outreach services through evidence-based approaches as noted in the previous paragraph. At the end of the three-year grant, the anticipated output for healthy futures: aging in place is that a minimum of 530 qualified clients are served. The anticipated outcome is that at least 155 clients will report having, as defined by cncs, increased social ties with or perceived social support from ccrsvp volunteers offering effective help during times of need.
