DEKALB COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH'S (DCBOH) MISSION IS TO PROTECT, PROMOTE, AND IMPROVE THE HEALTH OF THOSE WHO WORK, LIVE, AND PLAY IN DEKALB COUNTY, GEORGIA. THE PROPOSED VISTA PROJECT ALIGNS WITH THE OPPORTUNITY YOUTH FOCUS AREA. THE VISTA PROJECT WILL SEEK TO: (1) CONVENE A COUNTYWIDE, MULTI-SECTOR VIOLENCE PREVENTION CONSORTIUM; (2) CREATE CONNECTIONS AMONG LOCAL YOUTH VIOLENCE PROGRAMS; AND (3) ESTABLISH PARTNERSHIPS TO SUSTAIN INJURY AND VIOLENCE PREVENTION EFFORTS. AN ESTIMATED 150,000 PERSONS WHO ARE AT RISK FOR OR PERPETRATORS OF VIOLENCE WILL BENEFIT FROM THIS PROGRAM.
