Description

The organization was established to help participants develop morals and character, skills for the workforce, increase their education levels, promote physical health, and discover and nurture their talents. The proposed vista project aligns with the education focus area. The vista project will seek to build capacity of the iambk organization, and expects to benefit approximately 60 low income youth in three low-income communities. Five vista members will contribute to the goals of the project by performing activities such as building a volunteer recruitment and management system, expanding, and strengthening community partnerships, recruiting additional program participants, creating a plan for sustainability, developing and implementing new programs, and implementing a fiscal management system to track funding sources and contributions over the course of a year. All vista members will be housed and supported by iambk and work to form partnerships in the three communities that iambk serves (auburn, tuskegee, and notasulga). Three vista members will work from the auburn office, and two vista workers will work from the tuskegee office. The three vista members working from the auburn office will be the (1) grants and contributions coordinator, (2) program development coordinator, and (3) recruitment and volunteer coordinator. Vista members working from the tuskegee office will be the (1) public relations coordinator, and (2) resource development coordinator.
