SOME OF THEIR ACTIVITIES WILL INCLUDE: 1) INDEPENDENT LIVING ASSISTANCE THROUGH FOOD DELIVERY BY PROVIDING A HOT MEAL ONCE A WEEK, ALSO, COMPANIONSHIP BY MAKING WELFARE CALLS AND WELFARE VISITS TO LOW-INCOME ELDERLY PEOPLE IN THE REGION; 2) ASSISTING VITA BY PREPARING TAX REFUNDS FOR LOW-TO-MODERATE INCOME INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES; 3) ELDER ABUSE WILL BE MET BY ADDRESSING SENIOR SAFETY THROUGH THE TRIAD PROGRAM WHICH IS A COOPERATIVE EFFORT OF THE VIRGINIA ATTORNEY GENERAL'S OFFICE, LAW ENFORCEMENT AGENCIES (POLICE/FIRE/SHERIFFS), SENIOR CITIZENS, AND SENIOR ORGANIZATIONS, FOCUSED ON REDUCING CRIMES AGAINST THE MOST VULNERABLE CITIZENS OF OUR AREA, OUR SENIORS; 4) OTHER COMMUNITY PRIORITIES WILL BE MET BY SUPPORTING FOOD PANTRIES AND ADDRESSING HUNGER ISSUES IN OUR SERVICE AREA; THE PRIMARY FOCUS AREA OF THIS PROJECT IS HEALTHY FUTURES: AGING IN PLACE.
