Description

Rooted in christian tradition and values, the ymca seeks to serve all people, regardless of age, gender, race, religion, or economic circumstances. Our vision is to be a place where everyone has the opportunity to grow, learn, and thrive through our services and programs. We are always striving to enrich our member experience and foster a sense of community through inclusion and outreach. We strengthen our volunteer and financial resources and our internal operations to manage current needs and support future growth. The proposed vista project aligns with the education focus area. The vista member will seek to improve the educational achievement of low-income youth in the germantown area of quincy. We expect to serve at least 200 young people at programs in germantown. The vista member will contribute to the goals of the project by assisting in curriculum development and developing program effectiveness measurements and evaluation procedures for the germantown neighborhood center. The vista member will serve closely with partner organizations to recruit and train mentors to work with students attending after school programs in our music center; will find new ways to market youth development programs, and then instruct staff on how to implement the marketing strategy; develop surveys and evaluations intended to gather information about the neighborhood center and its youth programs; keep and interpret data from those surveys and evaluations; and use those evaluations to inform staff about potential changes to drive future growth of the music center.
