THE IMMIGRATION PROJECT WILL PLACE 4 VISTA VOLUNTEERS DIRECTLY WITH OUR AGENCY, AND 1 VISTA VOLUNTEER WITH ANOTHER PARTNER AGENCY. THE IMMIGRATION PROJECT'S PROPOSED VISTA PROJECT ALIGNS WITH THE CNCS GOAL OF ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITY. THE VISTA PROJECT WILL SEEK TO IMPROVE THE ECONOMIC OPPORTUNITIES OF LOW-INCOME IMMIGRANTS IN CENTRAL AND SOUTHERN ILLINOIS, BY HELPING FOREIGN BORN RESIDENTS OBTAIN THE LAWFUL RIGHT TO WORK OR TO APPLY FOR CITIZENSHIP. WE EXPECT TO BENEFIT BETWEEN 700-900 BENEFICIARIES. VISTA MEMBERS WILL CONTRIBUTE TO IMPROVING THE GOALS OF THE PROJECT BY IMPROVING EVALUATION AND DATA REPORTING METRICS, RECRUITING AND TRAINING VOLUNTEERS TO ASSIST THE AGENCY'S LEGAL REPRESENTATIVES, IMPROVING THE AGENCY'S VISIBILITY, AND INCREASING INDIVIDUAL DONOR GIVING.
