The Department of Justice Office of Justice Programs Bureau of Justice Assistance awarded $400,000 to the Tule River Indian Tribe of the Tule River Reservation, California on October 1, 2025 under the Treatment Court Discretionary Grant Program (CFDA 16.585). The award funds enhancement of the Tule River Tribal Juvenile Healing to Wellness Court (JHTWC), a therapeutic intervention program serving tribal members aged 12 to 21 with substance use disorders. The JHTWC integrates substance use disorder treatment, mandatory drug testing, incentives and sanctions, and intensive judicial supervision to reduce recidivism and address drug and alcohol use. The award specifically funds additional staffing to expand the program's capacity to provide more focused attention on each participant and expanded supportive services. Work is performed in Porterville, California, with a period of performance from October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2030.
