The Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women awarded South Valley Sanctuary Inc. $499,971 under the Transitional Housing Assistance Grants for Victims of Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Stalking, or Sexual Assault program (CFDA 16.736) on October 1, 2025.
South Valley Sanctuary Inc., a West Jordan, Utah-based nonprofit, will implement the Domestic Violence Victim Transitional Housing Project in collaboration with Sun Key Realty and Property Management. The project will provide six private, scattered-site transitional housing residences for survivors and their families in rural Utah. Support services include rental and utility assistance, case management, safety planning, career counseling, job training, legal assistance, and housing advocacy. Clients will receive assistance for a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 24 months as they transition to permanent housing.
The award covers the period October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2028, with place of performance in West Jordan, Utah. The program serves minors, adults, and dependents who are homeless or require housing assistance due to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking, with particular focus on underserved rural populations where emergency shelter and crisis services are unavailable or insufficient.
