About this award

The Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women awarded $500,000 to Domestic Violence Center of Chester County on October 1, 2025, under the Transitional Housing Assistance Grants for Victims of Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Stalking, or Sexual Assault program (CFDA 16.736).

The recipient will provide 28 private transitional housing units—including private landlord, clustered, and scattered-site residences—serving 28 survivors and their families in a rural region of Pennsylvania. Supportive services include rental and utility assistance, case management, safety planning, individual counseling, and housing advocacy. The project uses victim-centered approaches to transition survivors of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking from homelessness or housing instability to permanent housing. One additional staff member will be hired to implement the program.

The Housing Authority of the County of Chester collaborates with the recipient on the project. Performance takes place in West Chester, Pennsylvania. The period of performance runs from October 1, 2025, through September 30, 2028. This is a Project Grant assistance type.
