The Department of Justice Office on Violence Against Women awarded Supporters of Abuse Free Environments, Inc. (SOAFE) $498,824 under the Transitional Housing Assistance for Victims of Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Stalking, or Sexual Assault program (CFDA 16.736) on October 1, 2025. This continuation project provides victim-centered transitional housing and supportive services to homeless survivors and those in need of housing assistance due to domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking. SOAFE operates nine program-owned clustered-site transitional housing residences accommodating eighteen survivors and their families in rural Ravalli County, Montana. Clients receive assistance for a minimum of six months and a maximum of twenty-four months, with support services tailored to underserved populations in the region. The range of optional support services includes assistance locating and securing permanent housing, obtaining employment, and integrating into the community. SOAFE collaborates with District XI Human Resource Council in delivering services. Work is performed in Hamilton, Montana, with a period of performance from October 1, 2025 through September 30, 2028.
