This $400,000 federal Project Grant award from the Department of Justice's Office on Violence Against Women under the Grants to Reduce Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, and Stalking on Campus Program (CFDA #16.525) will allow Molloy University, a private Hispanic-Serving Institution, to continue a comprehensive initiative to address gender-based violence on its campus. The funded project, executed in collaboration with the SAFE Center, LI and Rockville Centre Police Department, will: 1) establish campus-specific risk assessment protocols for domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking; 2) enhance prevention education and support for underserved populations like LGBTQ+ and immigrant students; 3) strengthen the coordinated community response team; and 4) create a sustainable plan for long-term gender-based violence prevention and response efforts. The 3-year project period runs from October 1, 2024 through September 30, 2027.
