Through a $500,000.00 Project Grant from the U.S. Department of Justice's Office on Violence Against Women, Talladega College, a Historically Black College and University (HBCU), will create culturally specific strategies to address domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking on its campus. The federal CFDA program, Grants to Reduce Domestic Violence, Dating Violence, Sexual Assault, and Stalking on Campus, supports higher education institutions in developing comprehensive responses to gender-based violence. Over the 4-year project period from October 2024 to September 2028, Talladega College will build campus partnerships, conduct trainings, and develop tailored resources to strengthen its coordinated community response. The college will also establish a response team to oversee the implementation of these campus-wide efforts to support students, particularly those with disabilities and from the LGBTQ+ community.
