The Department of Justice's Office on Violence Against Women (OVW) awarded a $500,000 Project Grant under the OVW Research and Evaluation (R&E) Program (CFDA 16.026) to Justice Innovation Inc., doing business as the Center for Justice Innovation, to conduct an exploratory study on the intersection of community gun violence and intimate partner violence.

The study aims to: 1) document the extent to which community violence intervention (CVI) programs address the nexus of community gun violence and intimate partner violence (IPV); 2) create a national portrait of CVI programs working at this intersection; and 3) complete in-depth case studies of CVI programs operating in this space. This research project, funded from January 1, 2025 to June 30, 2027, is intended to fill a gap in knowledge and generate evidence-based strategies for serving victims and holding offenders accountable at the community level.
